Kannada actor Dileep Raj died after suffering a heart attack at his residence early hours on Wednesday. He was just 47 years old.

The actor was rushed to Apollo Hospital for treatment. However, despite efforts, doctors couldn't revive him.

Dileep gained popularity after working in the 2007 film Milana, alongside Puneeth Rajkumar.

He later went on to play prominent roles in several films, including U-turn and Boyfriend.

He also later ventured into producing TV serials under his company, DR Creations.

He later gained further recognition by starring as the lead in the serial Hitler Kalyana, which was aired on Zee Kannada.

He was also active in theatre and was a dubbing artist.

After news of his passing, fans took to revisiting his final Instagram post, which has now gone viral. His final post was related to the release of the film Nimma Vasthugaglige Javaabdaararu, which was released in January 2025. The actor had shared the film poster and encouraged fans to book tickets and watch it in theatres.

The film reportedly struggled at its theatrical run and took several months to appear on OTT.

It's currently streaming on Sun NXT.

The actor began his career with theater before film and television. He developed his acting skills and gained experience working with theatre groups like Nataraga and Dristi.

He also met actress Nandita, who reportedly helped him enter film during his theatre days.

His sudden demise is considered a loss for the Kannada entertainment industry.
