As Drishyam 3 is set to release on May 21, the makers have released the trailer of the crime thriller.

Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the Mohanlal-starrer is the third installment in the Drishyam franchise. Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil and others will reprise their roles from the earlier movies.

The trailer hints that the police are looking to reopen the murder case once again as Georgekutty played by Mohanlal makes plans to save his family from prison once again.

One of the police officers says that Georgekutty anticipates police moves and knows how to prepare for it. In another scene, his lawyer comforts him, saying the worst is behind him. To this, he asks, "Really?"

Before launching the trailer, Mohanlal said the latest film will bring an end to Georgekutty's misery. Earlier, Jeethu Joseph revealed that he first finished writing the climax of the movie before exploring the rest of the plot. The police officer's character played by Kalabhavan Shajon in the first movie will return in Drishyam 3, but this time he will be a civilian.

Though Drishyam 3 was earlier scheduled to release in the first week of April, it was later postponed due to the Iran war. The Middle East conflict could have affected the release of the movie in the Gulf countries, posing direct impact on overseas collections. The latest release date of May 21 was chosen because it is Mohanlal's birthday.

The shooting of the film began on September 22, 2025 and concluded on December 2. It was shot at multiple locations including, Thodupuzha, Vagamon, Ernakulam and Thiruvalla.

The Hindi remake of Drishyam 3 is slated to hit theatres worldwide on October 2.
