Dhurandhar 2 is still running unhindered in the box office as it inches closer to the worldwide collections of Baahubali 2.
The Ranveer Singh starrer had earned Rs 1784.98 crore worldwide and needs just a little over Rs 3 crore to surpass the Baahubali 2 worldwide collection of Rs 1,788.06 crore.
Dhurandhar 2 had earlier crossed the worldwide collection of Pushpa 2, which earned Rs 1,742.1 crore in its lifetime.
The worldwide collection of Dhurandhar 2 includes Rs 1,359.83 crore in gross domestic collection and Rs 425.15 crore in overseas earnings.
The net domestic collection of the spy thriller stands at Rs 1,136.14 crore. On its Day 44, Dhurandhar 2 netted Rs 1.05 crore from 851 shows, reports Sacnilk. It remains to be seen whether the movie will see a surge this weekend at the box office.
Dhurandhar 2, which minted Rs 12.4 crore in its sixth week, is now officially fourth highest-ever week six collection. At the top is Dhurandhar with Rs 26.35 crore, followed by Stree 2 (Rs 18.6 crore) and Chhaava (Rs 16.3 crore). Fifth on the list behind Dhurandhar 2 is Uri: The Surgical Strike with Rs 11.57 crore.
Dhurandhar is set in Lyari, Karachi, a region marked by gang wars and violent turf conflicts, and follows covert operations against the backdrop of major terror events, including the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Dhurandhar 2 shifts focus to Hamza Ali Mazari’s rise in Karachi’s underworld, tracing his origins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi and his evolution from an ordinary young man into a covert operative. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, the film was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
