On Day 40 (the sixth Monday) of its theatrical run, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" registered its biggest dip, earning around Rs 1.05 crore, its lowest single-day collection yet. However, it had performed exceptionally well on the sixth weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
This is natural for a blockbuster that has completed its 40th day. When we compare the collections of Day 40 of both films, the first "Dhurandhar" did much better. On Day 40, which was the sixth Tuesday in the case of "Dhurandhar", it raked in Rs 2.60 crore, and Rs 2.35 crore on its sixth Monday (Day 39).
In terms of percentage, "Dhurandhar 2" experienced a sharp 69.1% drop following a strong sixth weekend. In contrast, the original "Dhurandhar" recorded a 10.6% growth on its 40th day compared to its previous day.
In the case of "Dhurandhar 2", most of its revenue was front-loaded earnings in the first few weeks, unlike the original film, which was doing strong business even in the sixth week.
Its India net total stands at Rs 1,131.64 crore and India gross at Rs 1,354.52 crore. Globally, it has earned Rs 1,779.02 crore by far, as per box office tracker Sacnilk.
"Dhurandhar 2" is currently chasing the worldwide records of "Baahubali 2" and "Dangal" to become one of the top two highest-grossing Indian films.
The original Dhurandhar was notable for being the first Bollywood film to cross the Rs 1,300 crore mark.
Meanwhile, the Ranveer Singh-starrer has officially surpassed the domestic net collection of "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", but it still trails behind "Pushpa 2: The Rule". It will require another Rs 102 crore to surpass the lifetime domestic net of the Allu Arjun movie.
"Dhurandhar 2" is expected to overtake the worldwide box office collection of "Baahubali 2" by the end of this week.
The combined worldwide total collection for both "Dhurandhar" films has already crossed well over Rs 3,150 crore.
