Did Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt actually model for Pakistani clothing brand Wajayesha Official? That was the question buzzing on social media after the company recently posted images of her wearing their latest designs.
The images, posted to their official Instagram account, quickly went viral in India, sparking some degree of backlash against Bhatt, before some eagle-eyed fans managed to spot that the images were edited using either AI, digital retouching, or a mix of both.
"EVEN ALIA BHATT LIKE OUR PURE SHEESHA SILK COLLECTION," the brand wrote, alongside multiple alleged photos of the Raazi actress.
Though the photos look very much like actual fashion photoshoots, the eagle-eyed fans observed that they were very obviously inspired from some of the actress' public photoshoots, posts, and fashion performances.
Some reports specifically compared her face in one of the photos to that of her ramp walk on the L'Oreal Paris runway in 2024, and another of the brand's edited images to her look during Gucci's show at the Milan Fashion Week in 2026.
Many of the poses and jewellery sets she is seen wearing in the Pakistani brand's photos were also said to resemble one of her photoshoots with longtime designer Sabyasachi.
When fans got to know the truth, most of them were quite angry, while a few were left amused. But no one expected what the brand would do, even after the fans found out that the Alia Bhatt images were edited.
"This is AI I will send this to her," one user wrote in the comments of the viral post.
"Alia Bhatt ko pata hai brand shoot ke bare? (Does Alia even know about such a brand shoot?)" another user wrote, to which Wajayesha Official boldly replied:
“Viral karein please ki unku bhi pata chal jaye (Please make it viral, so Alia also finds out)."
"She will sue you!" a third user wrote, to which the brand replied that she "will not", and despite a number of other users tagging the actress in the comments section, the post remains on the brand's page—three days after it was posted—with more than 9,400 likes.
