Akshay Kumar's latest collaboration with Priyadarshan is doing decent business after a three-day run, which includes the first weekend and the Thursday preview shows.

On the third day, the film raked in Rs 23.00 crore, according to numbers tracked by Sacnilk, which witnessed a 21.1% growth on Sunday as opposed to the Rs 19.00 crore on Saturday. The numbers were earned from a total of 11,682 shows.

"Bhooth Bangala" has already crossed the 50 crore milestone domestically. Its India gross total is already nearing Rs 70 crore, while the India net total stands at Rs 58 crore. Combined with the total overseas gross of Rs 28.50 crore so far, the film earned Rs 97.87 crore in worldwide gross and is on the way to make the worldwide 100-crore club.

The film has been showing a steady rise in footfalls, registering a 30% occupancy on Thursday preview screenings, dropping to 19% on the first Friday. However, the occupancy showed a surge from the first Saturday (29%) and increased to 36% on the first Sunday, that is, the third day.

When comparing the opening weekend performance of the most recent Akshay Kumar releases, "Bhooth Bangla" surpassed the collections of "Jolly LLB 3" and "Kesari". The former earned Rs 53.50 domestically in three days, while the latter managed a total of Rs 57.75 crore in the same timeline. However, "Jolly LLB 3" has the advantage of pre-established brand popularity.

Other recent Bollywood biggies that crossed the 50 crore domestic milestone in three days include "Animal", "Pathaan", "Jawan", "Gadar 2", "Tere Ishq Mein", and "Raid 2".
