After a 17-day theatrical run, the Malayalam coming-of-age comedy drama "Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros" has entered the Rs 200 crore club, matching the pace of the Mohanlal blockbuster "Thudarum". The case of the former is comparatively more extraordinary, considering that it is devoid of big stars.

Its total domestic gross now stands at Rs 120.75 crore, while taking the net earnings to Rs 104.34 crore, as per Sacnilk. With an overseas collection totalling Rs 80 crore (and counting), the worldwide gross has hit the Rs 200 crore mark.

As of 2026, "Vaazha 2" is the fourth entry in the list of Malayalam films that reached the Rs 200 crore worldwide milestone within 20 days. The other films are "L2: Empuraan" (the fastest, hitting the mark in just 5 days), followed by "Lokah" (13 days), and "Thudarum" (17 days).

The performance of "Vaazha 2" looks even more impressive when considering the time it took for other industry blockbusters featuring established actors to reach the same milestone.

It took 27 days for "Manjummel Boys" to cross 200 crore "2018" —the first Malayalam film to officially reach the Rs 200 crore club — took more than 20 days to achieve this. The same can be said of Mohanlal's "Lucifer", which took more than three weeks to cross the Rs 200 crore mark.

In Kerala, "Vaazha 2" is now the fastest Malayalam film to reach the Rs 100 crore mark in 16 days, breaking the previous record held by "Thudarum" (19 days).

"Vaazha 2" is currently the fifth in the list of highest-grossing Malayalam movies of all time at the global box office, behind "Lokah", "Manjummel Boys", "Thudarum" and "L2: Empuraan", and is fifth in the list of Top 5 earners in terms of domestic net.
