We had reported earlier that Ahaan Panday is the lead in the upcoming Ali Abbas Zafar directorial backed by Yash Raj Films.

After playing a musician in the blockbuster "Saiyaara", the actor will take on a different challenge — he is set to play a gangster, as per Variety India which calls it a "high-octane action-romance film".

The report also adds that the actor has trained in hand-to-hand combat and weapons for the film which is currently in the middle of filming. It began rolling on April 3, 2026, with a big-screen release aimed for 2027.

Sharvari is the female lead. Interestingly, "Nishaanchi" actor Aaishvary Thackeray has been cast as the antagonist. Other integral roles are played by Bobby Deol and Jimmy Shergill. The film marks the latter's reunion with YRF after two decades.

In "Saiyaara", Ahaan played a hotheaded rockstar who falls in love with a lyricist (Aneet Padda). What starts as a musical collaboration deepens into love, but the demands of fame and personal issues threaten to interfere with their relationship.

Helmed by Mohit Suri, the film turned it into one of 2025’s top releases, beating out veteran actors Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar's 2025 releases "Sikandar" and "Sky Force", respectively.

Notably, despite "Nishaanchi" not doing well at the box office, Aaishvary Thackeray started getting more notice after "Nishaanchi - Part 2" was released directly on Prime Video.

In the crime epic directed by Anurag Kashyap, the actor played dual roles of twin brothers with different temperaments, whose journeys spanned several decades.
