With his recent acting ventures, Tamil actor Pradeep Ranganathan has established a strong box office presence, evolving from a debut director to a lead actor with significant opening numbers. His movies benefit strongly from a Gen Z connection, as evident from his popularity with younger audiences.
His most recent release, "Love Insurance Kompany" (LIK), earned approximately Rs 9.93 crore worldwide on its opening day (April 10, 2026) as per data gathered from various sources.
A futuristic rom-com, The Vignesh Shivan directorial registered the second-highest opening day numbers when compared to Pradeep Ranganathan's "Dude", which opened at around Rs 12 crore. They are followed by "Dragon" (Rs 7.6 crore) and "Love Today" (Rs 6 crore).
The opening day India net gross of "LIK" currently stands at Rs 6.85 crore. Comparatively, "Dude" had registered an opening-day India net gross of Rs 10 crore, while "Dragon" earned Rs 6 crore on Day 1 and "Love Today" earned around Rs 2.85-3 crore on the first day.
In a nutshell, "Dude" currently holds his highest opening-day record for Pradeep Ranganathan as an actor, surpassing both "Dragon" and "Love Today".
"Love Insurance Kompany" reportedly showed strong regional performance on its first day, with the Tamil version alone contributing Rs 5.45 crore net.
"Love Today", despite a modest opening, became a massive "sleeper hit," eventually grossing over Rs 100 crore worldwide against a small budget of Rs 5 crore.
