ranveer-dhurandhar Box office collection records are expected to be broken by 'Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge'

As expected, Ranveer Singh's Bollywood espionage blockbuster Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) has become the highest-grossing Indian film at the North American box office. It took the Aditya Dhar-directed twenty days to outrun Baahubali 2: The Conclusion's $22 million collection record.

According to available information, Dhurandhar 2 has collected $26.68 million in 21 days so far. Shattering the benchmark of $7.72 million set by its own prequel (Dhurandhar), the movie has become the highest-grossing Indian film ever in Canada. The spy-action thriller has collected $10.14 million from that country alone, Koimoi said in a report. Earlier, the movie had broken the all-time Canadian collection records of Jawan, Pathaan, and Animal.

Meanwhile, in the USA, Baahubali 2’s $19.9 million tally is the only record remaining to be broken by the film, which has collected $16.54 million so far, the report added.

"With the sequel taking the top spot and Dhurandhar sitting at third, Ranveer Singh now has two films in the top three highest-grossers of North America. With a staggering $26.68 million in its kitty within three weeks, Ranveer Singh is now the undisputed leader," Koimoi said in a report.

Ranveer Singh's espionage thriller stands a realistic chance of becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of all time. Currently, Aamir Khan's sports drama Dangal holds the pole position, having managed ₹2,070 crore,. It was earlier followed by Prabhas' Baahubali 2 (₹1,788 crore) and Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 (₹1,742 crore). The second part of the Aditya Dhar duology has reportedly crossed the ₹1,350-crore gross mark.
