The box office collections of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has steadily come down in the third week, with Tuesday expected to record the lowest. This has also triggered concerns about whether the Ranveer Singh starrer could beat the worldwide collections of top grossers.
On Day 20, Dhurandhar 2 collected just Rs 5.76 crore in net domestic earnings, as of 5 pm, reports Sacnilk. The numbers could double once the evening and night show collections are revealed.
This takes the total net domestic collections of the Aditya Dhar directorial to Rs 1,029.53 crore. The gross domestic collections were pegged at Rs 1,232.51 crore.
The spy thriller netted just Rs 10 crore in India with 14.2 per cent occupancy on Day 19. This was the lowest daily collection and occupancy till date. It remains to be seen whether the movie fares better on Day 20.
Will Dhurandhar 2 beat Baahubali 2, Pushpa 2 this week?
The latest figures available regarding the worldwide collections of Dhurandhar 2 is from Day 19. It has collected Rs 1,622.72 crore so far. It should be noted that the number of domestic shows came down from 21,633 on Day 1 to 13,736 on Day 19.
The lifetime worldwide collection of Baahubali 2 stands at Rs 1,788.06 crore while that of Pushpa 2 was pegged at 1,742.1 crore. If Dhurandhar 2 needs to break these records within a week, it needs to collect Rs 120 to 166 crore in a few days. However, going by the current pace, it seems highly unlikely.
Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla, a fantasy horror comedy directed by Priyadarshan, is set to release on April 17. This could mean that Dhurandhar 2 may see reduced number of shows, making it difficult for the spy thriller to rule box office.
