'Dhurandhar 2' beats 'Dhurandhar' to become highest Hindi net grosser, inches closer to Rs 900 crore mark in net domestic box office

With Dhurandhar 2 inching closer to Rs 900 crore in net domestic collection, the Adhitya Dhar movie has beat the previous instalment in the spy thriller franchise to become the highest Hindi net grosser.

Dhurandhar 2 has raked in Rs 894.64 crore as of 9 pm, according to Sacnilk. Compared to this, Dhurandhar recorded Rs 840 crore in net domestic collection.

A close third is held by Pushpa 2 with Rs 812 crore net collection. It should be noted that Dhurandhar 2 surpassed Pushpa 2 just a day ago, propelled by weekend collections.

Stree 2 netted a total of Rs 598 crore in domestic box office, followed by Chhava at Rs 585.7 crore.

Set in the Lyari town of Karachi, known for its gang wars and violent turf disputes, Dhurandhar follows covert operations amid terror events, including the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament Attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

Dhurandhar 2 delves into the rise of Hamza Ali Mazari’s character within the Karachi underworld, while also exploring his origins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The story tracks his transformation from a young man to a covert operative. Dhurandhar 2 is produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar and was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Dhurandhar 2 has already broken dozens of box office records, including the biggest paid previews at the Indian box office and the biggest opening day in Hindi at the Indian box office. It also holds the record for the biggest second, third and fourth day in a single language at the domestic box office.
