It's not often that an extended opening weekend lasts seven days but then, Monday releases are rare anyway. Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu released on a Monday and had a great seven-day extended weekend.
After seven days, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu has grossed Rs 220 crore worldwide with Rs 188 crore coming from India markets. In India, the major chunk of this has come from the Telugu states that have a cumulative cross of Rs 155 crore. Over the course of the next four-five days, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu will become Chiranjeevi's biggest-ever grosser.
On its eighth day, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is showing superb hold at the domestic box office. A drop was always on the cards, given that the long holiday period is almost over. Hence, it was about how much stability the film can maintain on the weekdays. Initial samples indicate a regular 40-50 percent drop till matinee shows if we compare with previous days.
However, the evening and night shows are bound to surge with families preferring the Chiranjeevi starrer the most among the Sankranthi releases. As per early estimates, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is expected to gross around Rs 8-10 crore in India on its first Monday. These are just early estimates and we could see variations depending in how the prime time shows fare.
Overseas, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is heading towards $4 million mark and the collections so far are at around $3.8 million with $2.8 million coming from North America. Currently, the film is well on track for being Chiranjeevi's maiden entry to the Rs 300 crore club globally.
