It's official: Kiara Advani's role in Geetu Mohandas' 'Toxic' confirmed by Yash

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the movie is confirmed to make the March 19, 2026 release date. Yash recently confirmed the news, putting an end to speculation about the team bringing out the much-anticipated gangster movie on time

Kiara Advani has been revealed as a female lead in Yash's much-anticipated Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups, announced the makers. A first-look glimpse was revealed on Sunday by Yash, director Geetu Mohandas, and the Toxic team.

In a statement to Variety, Mohandas called Advani's performance "redefining," adding that Kiara's performance "is nothing short of transformative."

"From our very first conversation, she placed an unwavering trust in a character that demanded everything from her – be it emotionally, mentally, and artistically. She didn’t just play the role, she lived it. As a director, I am deeply proud of her and for the performance she has delivered, and for the faith and heart she brought into our shared journey,” added the filmmaker, who is known for Moothon and Liar's Dice.

Toxic has a script co-written by her and Yash.

The team wrote and shot the big-scale gangster drama simultaneously in the Kannada and English languages, which will be accompanied by the dubbed versions of other Indian languages such as Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and more.

Recently, Yash dropped a new poster for the movie, confirming the March 19, 2026, release date and putting an end to speculation about the team bringing out the much-anticipated gangster movie on time.

Produced by Yash in association with KVN Productions, Toxic has veteran cinematographer and filmmaker Rajeev Ravi (also Geetu's spouse) as the director of photography. A filmmaker in his own right, known for the Malayalam hits Annayum Rasoolum, Njan Steve Lopez, and Kammattipadam, Rajeev is noted mostly for his critically acclaimed collaborations with filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. Ravi Basrur, who worked on the music for the KGF movies and Salaar, is the composer.
