Exactly two months after the film was initially scheduled to hit the big screens, Vijay Deverakonda’s action-heavy Kingdom stormed its way to the theatres on Thursday, much to the relief of those who have been patiently waiting.

Now that the film is out, opinions on the Gowtam Tinnanuri directorial are being voiced loudly on social media, and it is not the verdict that the makers were hoping for. According to netizens, once the initial buzz faded, Kingdom fell short of expectations.

One user wrote that the film was not “outright bad” and that Deverakonda’s performance was decent.

Another warned fans to manage their expectation before approaching Kingdom.

One netizen compared it to Tinnanuri’s previous directorial Jersey, saying it lacked the emotional depth that the latter showcased.

Another user claims that paid reviews were distorting the film’s true response, and not in a good way.

One user noted that the film used Ravichander’s background music to “cover the hollow scenes”.

Another did not have a kind word to spare for the film, stating that the plot felt “forced” and that Anirudh Ravichander’s musical composition fell flat.
