“The fairest of them all returns with a whole lot of magic,” their social media posts captions. The film will be available for viewing in English and Hindi.

Snow White follows the age-old tale of a young princess whose palace and kingdom have been hijacked by her evil stepmother. The Evil Queen, driven by envy, longs to be declared “the fairest of them all”—a title she cannot claim as long as Snow White is alive. Directed by Marc Webb, the film stars Rachel Zegler, Andrew Burnap, Gal Gadot, Ansu Kabia, and Patrick Page.

The film is a live-action remake of the 1937 classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which marked Disney’s first-ever feature-length film.

Snow White (2025) received a lot of flak since its announcement, with many deeming the remake “necessary”. Criticism grew when Zegler, of Colombian and Polish heritage, was cast as the titular character. Critics and netizens alike found the casting choice strayed away from the original story.

While Snow White’s famous “skin as white as snow” was the reason for her name, the modern flick attributes her name to being kind-hearted, hence “the fairest of them all”. Reports also surfaced about growing animosity between Zegler and Gadot, who played The Evil Queen, due to political differences.

The film, burdened by a weak storyline and poor critical reception, faltered at the box office and failed to match production costs. Snow White managed to scrape $205 million against a reported budget of approximately $240–270 million.
