Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has been announced as the official global ambassador for Maldives. The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC, also known as Visit Maldives) shared the announcement on social media and issued a statement on its official website.

Their announcement featured a photo of the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actress against the backdrop of a breezy Maldivian beach, dressed in a blue bikini. The post captioned, “A true icon of grace and elegance, Katrina embodies the spirit of the Maldives – luxury, serenity, and unforgettable moments. Get ready to explore the art of island indulgence through her journey in paradise!”
The announcement comes at the time of Visit Maldives’ special Summer Sale Campaign, aiming to draw vacationers to the South Asian island during the hot summer season.
Speaking about her new role as the Sunny Side of Life’s Global Brand Ambassador, Kaif said, “The Maldives represents the pinnacle of luxury and natural beauty — a place where elegance meets tranquillity. I’m honoured to be chosen as the face of the Sunny Side of Life.” Kaif also stated that she was excited to help people discover the beauty and charm of the popular destination and the “world-class offerings” that come with it.
Mr Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO & MD of Visit Maldives, also commented on Kaif’s appointment: "We are thrilled to welcome Katrina as our Global Brand Ambassador. Her vibrant personality and strong connection with audiences worldwide make her a perfect representative for the Sunny Side of Life, the World’s Leading Destination for the past 5 consecutive years, especially as we start our Summer Sale push in key markets around the world."

The announcement of Kaif’s new ambassador role comes as Prime Minister Narendra Modi plans a visit to the Maldives in July—his first visit to the island since President Mohamed Muizzu took office in November 2023.
