Another female Pakistani social media influencer set to move legally after a digitally altered clip went viral on the internet claiming to be a "private leak."

TikTok star Samiya Hijab is the latest social media influencer to have fallen prey to the wicked campaign involving morphing and AI tools. Pakistani media reports claim that she went public within 24 hours after the said video went viral on the internet. Distancing herself from the clipping, Samiya Hijab alleged that her ex-boyfriend was the mastermind behind the heinous act. The digitally altered viral video was inspired by revenge porn as her former partner wanted to tarnish her public image, she said.

It was in a video statement that Saniya reportedly made her part clear. Declaring the viral video fake, the woman said her character was being deliberately targeted to damage my reputation on social media.

Samiya Hijab, known for her dance numbers on TikTok, reportedly added that she will be moving legally against those behind the fake video. Her decision was to file a formal complaint with Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing, demanding a full-scale investigation into the origins and distribution of the video. FIA is a criminal investigation and security agency under the control of the Interior Secretary of Pakistan.

Samiya reportedly added that her legal battle will also involve a push for the implementation of improved regulatory measures and policy reform to keep the rogue use of Artificial intelligence under check.

Earlier last year, popular social media icon Minahil Malik had also filed a complaint with the FIA after she found herself at the centre of a video leak scandal. Over the months, several women influencers fell victim to such fake videos. Maryam Faisal, Sajal Malik and Zarnab Shastri are among the most recent victims of similar "planned video leaks."
