The fight against the rebellion continues in Season 2 of, arguably, the best Star Wars show on Disney+. Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor in the next chapter of Tony Gilroy's acclaimed series that narrates the four-year-spanning events that lead up to the 2016 spin-off Rogue One, directed by Gareth Edwards.
The trailer shows glimpses of The Death Star, whose discovery will mark the culmination of the journey that began moulding Andor into the revolutionary figure he will soon become.
The official logline for Andor Season 2 reads: "Season 1 followed Cassian’s reluctant journey from cynical nobody to revolutionary volunteer. Andor Season 2 will see him transform from soldier to leader to hero on the way to his epic destiny. From the very first scene, Cassian’s story has activated an ever-widening ensemble of allies and enemies. Season 2 will see these relationships intensify as the horizon of galactic war draws near. Everyone will be tested, and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices, and conflicting agendas will become profound."
The trailer also seems to hint at the return of Darth Vader if that brief 'Force choke' scene is anything to go by. The second season, also the final, will see Ben Mendelsohn reprise his Orson Krennic role from Rogue One. Other returning cast members include Mon Mothma and Saw Gerrera, played by Genevieve O'Reilly and Forest Whitaker, respectively, and Alan Tudyk's K-2SO.
With this season, Tony Gilroy, who serves as the show's creator, showrunner, and lead writer, is most likely wrapping up his involvement in the Star Wars saga.
Andor Season 2 is expected to premiere in India on JioHotstar on April 22.
