Actor Sridevi's daughter Jahnvi Kapoor has been roped in to play a role opposite actor Suriya in the movie based on Karna's life. The movie will be directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
Karna is a character in the epic Mahabharata. The movie will portray his life story and his role in the epic battle between the Kauravas and the Pandavas. Kapoor is also set to appear in Devara, starring NTR Jr., in which Saif Ali Khan is set to play a negative role.
Karna would be a pan-India project made in two parts. Pre-production for the film is in the works. The budget for both parts of the movie is said to be set at Rs 500 crore.
Kapoor will also be seen in the movies Mr & Mrs Mahi and Ulajh. Earlier this month, Suriya tweeted that he had finished shooting for another period film he is starring in, Kanguva. The movie also stars Disha Patani and Bobby Deol. The film's makers, on Saturday, Deol's birthday, released his look from the film.
Suriya is also set to appear in a movie alongside Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim, and Vijay Varma. The film will be directed by Sudha Kongara.
