Bollywood star Deepika Padukone rubbed shoulders with the likes of Natalie Portman, Selena Gomez and Meryl Streep at the Academy Museum Gala event in Los Angeles. Padukone looked stunning in a blue velvet gown, which she paired with statement diamond jewellery. This is the first time an Indian actor has been invited to this event.
Padukone shared a few pictures on Instagram stories. Her fan club shared the images on Instagram, with the caption 'Stunning'. Sharing the image on the social media platform X, a fan wrote, “My queen flaunting her million dollar smile... thank you for this DP (Deepika Padukone)... just thank you for your existence.” Another fan, sharing the picture wrote, “Elegance personified.” “Turkish actresses and celeb stylists need to learn from this queen how to dress for red carpet events. She slays and how,” wrote another fan.
Other stars who attended the event included Lupita Nyong'o, and Ke Huy Quan. Most of the celebrities wore black to the event. Celebrities Meryl Streep, Sofia Coppola, Michael B Jordan and Oprah Winfrey were honoured at the event for their contributions to cinema and storytelling.
Fighter starring Padukone and Hrithik Roshan, directed by Siddharth Anand will be released in January 2024. She will also be seen in the sci-fi action film Kalki 2898 AD opposite Prabhas. Another upcoming release for Padukone is Singham Again, which stars Kareena Kapoor, Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff and Ranveer Singh.
