The release of Shah Rukh Khan's much awaited film Jawan, directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, has been postponed, according to reports. After the massive box office success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh's fans have been awaiting the release of the film which was scheduled to hit the big screens on June 2.

As per latest reports, Jawan is likely to release in August. Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and Sunny Deol's Gaddar 2 are the other releases lined up in August, and there is no confirmation on whether the Shah Rukh-starrer will lock horns with either of these.

In June last year, Shah Rukh officially announced the film's release and shared a teaser which mentioned the film's release date as June 2, 2023. However, fans have been disappointed as the makers have not released a fresh teaser or trailer.

Quoting sources, Pinkvilla reported that the film's visual effects team needs more time to complete work, and hence the delay. “In all probability, Jawan will be an August release now, as Shah Rukh Khan and team now want to give adequate time to the VFX. August 11 and August 25 are being considered by all stakeholders at Red Chillies,” the report stated, quoting the source.

The action-drama will also feature actress Nayanthara.
