The film arrives amid massive protests and petitions challenging the film's release in theatres. Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani and Siddhi Idnani.
2018 – Everyone is a Hero: May 5
The Malayalam thriller, based on the Kerala floods that ravaged the state in 2018, is another eagerly awaited release this week. Written and directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, the film tells the stories of people who battled the calamity and save lives. The film features an ensemble cast of Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Aparna Balamurali, Vineeth Sreenivasan among others.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3: May 5
The third installment of the Marvel franchise arrives in theatres on Friday, and will be available in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Directed by James Gunn, the film features Chris Pratt, Zoe Zaldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper among others. Indian fans were in for a pleasant surprise when Marvel Studios roped in Bollywood actor Salman Khan to promote the film. In a hilarious promotional video shared by Marvel India, the actor was seen turning into Groot, one of the franchise's much-loved characters.
Afwaah: May 5
The Bollywood film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead roles also arrives in theatres this Friday. The Sudhir Mishra directorial also features Sharib Hashmi, Sumit Kaul and Sumeet Vyas. The thriller that throes light on how social media can be used to instigate violence, revolves around a top advertising professionals and a political heiress who get caught up in a vicious rumour cycle created by social media.
Ugram: May 5
The Telugu thriller arriving in theatres on Friday revolves around a cop probing the missing of his wife and son. Directed by Vijay Kanakamedala, the film stars Allari Naresh and Mirnaa.
