Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who has been embroiled in a legal battle with his estranged wife, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking the details of his children's whereabouts.

Siddiqui filed a habeas corpus (produce the person) petition seeking direction to his wife Aaliya to reveal the whereabouts of their children— a 12-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son. Responding to the actor's petition, the HC suggested the duo to try to amicably resolve their differences over their two minor children.

According to reports, Aaliya had accused Nawazuddin's family of harassment. Last month, Nawazuddin's mother Mehrunisa Siddiqui filed a complaint at Versova police station against Aaliya for alleged trespass and voluntarily causing hurt. Advocate Pradeep Thorat, appearing for Siddiqui, told the court that the actor was unaware of the whereabouts of his children.

“The petitioner (Siddiqui) thought his children are in Dubai. But he has now got a mail from the children’s school warning to rusticate them as they have not been attending their classes,” Thorat said. He added that the actor’s estranged wife had in November 2022 come to India from Dubai without the children. The woman and her children are permanent residents of Dubai, he said.

Aaliya's lawyer, Rizwan Siddiquee told the court that the children are with their biological mother and do not wish to leave her and go back to Dubai. In response to the bench's query about the children's schooling, Rizwan said they could join online classes or be enrolled in a school in Mumbai, Live Law reported.

The bench posted the matter for further hearing on March 3.
