Actor-politician Kirron Kher, who was diagnosed with blood cancer, has returned to India’s Got Talent (IGT) season nine as a judge. The 69-year-old actress who is undergoing treatment had been working from home and inaugurating functions virtually before physically appearing on the IGT set.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra who is co-judging this season along with Kher and Badshah shared a behind-the-scenes video on Wednesday. She captioned it: “BTS on IGT. First day, first show with Kirron Kher and Badshah.” The actress was seen focusing on Kher’s necklace and joking that she comes here only to look at her jewellery.

In the video, they are seen joking about it. Shilpa was requesting the senior actor to adopt her only to inherit her accessories. “Mai toh kehti hu adopt kar lo mujhe, Sikander (son of Kirron Kher) thodi pehnega ye”(I say adopt me, Sikander will not wear those).

To this, Kher responded: “Usko pehenni padi toh shayad wo bhi pehan lega” (If he had to, maybe he will wear them too), which left those around them in splits.

Kher, who has been associated with IGT since it started in 2009, earlier expressed her excitement about returning to her work. “India's Got Talent has always been close to my heart,” she told IANS. “This being my 9th year with this prestigious talent reality show, returning as a jury member is a wonderful experience. It feels like I am coming back home.”

In April, her actor-husband Anupam Kher confirmed her diagnosis through an Instagram post. In it, he said that his wife had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma and was undergoing treatment.

The broadcast dates of season nine of India's Got Talent are yet to be announced.
