Proud parents Madhuri Dixit and Dr. Shriram Nene took to their Instagram handle to share their younger son Ryan’s deed. In the video, Ryan was having a haircut and was seen donating his hair to cancer patients.

Bursting with pride, Madhuri Dixit posted this video on National Cancer Awareness Day (observed on November 7). The actress shared how thrilled they were when Ryan wanted to do this and on his ‘final step’ she recalled how it almost took him 2 years to accomplish this.

She penned down a note along with the video that said “NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES… But mine did”. On this occasion of National Cancer Day, I would like to share something really special. Ryan felt heartbroken seeing several folks who were undergoing chemo for cancer. With everything they go through they lose their hair. My son took a call of donating his hair to the cancer society. We as parents were thrilled with his decision.  As per guidelines, it took him almost 2 year to grow the required length of hair. And this was the final step.”

Madhuri Dixit’s friends and fans were seen lauding her son on taking this step. Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan said “How extremely sensitive and kind...” Actress Shilpa Shetty wrote “Such a beautiful thought bless him.”

Bollywood has already witnessed a few cancer warriors, their struggle and the journey through their social media platforms. Some of them include Sonali Bendre, Kirron Kher, Manisha Koirala, Anurag Basu, Tahira Kashyap and many more who had announced their fight against cancer.

Recently Kirron Kher was also seen opening about her struggle after getting diagnosed with multiple myeloma. She said “it’s something I had to accept”.
