Drugs case: No bail for Aryan Khan today, next hearing on Wednesday

Court told NCB to file its report by Wednesday

The bail application of Shah Rukh Khan‘s son Aryan Khan in the drugs-in-cruise case will now be heard on Wednesday, after Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) gives its statement to the court.

A Mumbai court rejected his bail plea of Aryan Khan on Friday, and the 23-year-old has been lodged  at the Arthur Road prison since then. The anti-drugs agency had asked the court to extend his custody till Friday for more time to file its reply. The court, however, ordered the NCB to do so by Wednesday morning, NDTV reported.

Aryan as arrested after the NCB raided a cruise ship and busted a drugs party off the coast of Mumbai last week. He was held under Section 8C, 20B, 27 read with 35 of the NDPS Act. Besides Aryan, the others arrested were identified as Munmun Dhamecha, Arbaaz Merchant, Ismeet Singh, Mohak Jaswal, Gomit Chopra, Nupur Sarika, and Vikrant Chhokar.

While seeking the custody of Aryan, Munmun and Arbaaz, the NCB had said there was evidence to show a nexus between the arrested persons and suppliers and peddlers of drugs and banned narcotic substances regularly. Prima facie investigation, the NCB said, revealed that there is incriminating material in the form of WhatsApp chats and more.
