Renowned Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap's daughter Aaliyah Kashyap revealed in recent YouTube video how she deals with negativity.

Reacting to a question on how she deals with negativity on social media and real life, she said she is a sensitive person and even the smallest bit of hate affects her. “Recently, I posted a Lounge underwear picture on my Instagram, and the amount of backlash I got for it... People telling me that I should be ashamed, of being Indian and posting stuff like that. People were sending me rape threats, calling me a prostitute, people were calling me and asking what my rate was, people were sending me death threats,” she said.

Aaliyah further said people were also saying mean things about her family after she posted the picture. She said she was crying constantly following the backlash. “But I just realized that it doesn't matter because these are people behind their phones and have nothing better to do,” she added.

She said she blocks people who say negative things on her social media as she wants it to be a platform to spread positivity.

Even in real life, she said she removes people who are negative or remove herself from such people.

She also admitted that just like most people, there are times she feels insecure about her body. “Obviously social media doesn't help because you see the models with like the most perfect bodies,” she said and added that she is learning to not feel insecure. She followed it up with a “cheesy” line, “Everyone is beautiful in their own way.”
