Renowned journalist and film critic Rajeev Masand has joined Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar’s Dharma Cornerstone Agency (DCA) as its COO, the company said in a statement.
The statement, which is being widely circulated on social media, said that Masand will “now be responsible for driving greater management stability with a stronger focus on development at the talent management agency through various avenues for each individual”.
The agency was founded by Johar last year in association with Bunty Sajdeh, marking the filmmaker’s entry into talent management.
The statement further said that Masand’s professional experience in the industry over two decades will drive the DCA to become “an indomitable powerhouse of talent that will drive collaborations and become the benchmark for artist management and representation in the country”.
Masand has had an illustrious career spanning over two decades as a journalist and film critic. He has worked with The Times of India, The Indian Express, Star News and CNN-IBN, where he presented shows such as Now Showing, Masand’s Verdict and To Catch a Star. He also writes for various other publications and media websites.
He was awarded ‘Best Entertainment Critic’ by the National Television (NT) Awards, in 2008, 2010 and 2011.
