Academy Award-winning music maestro A.R. Rahman has joined US-India-Bangladesh film No Land’s Man as composer and co-producer, Variety reported. Featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Australian theatre actress Megan Mitchell, the film is directed by Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki.
The film, shot in the US, Australia and India, is predominantly in English with some dialogue in Hindi and Urdu, according to the report. The film chronicles a south Asian man and his journey after he meets an Australian woman in the US.
The film won the MPAA and Asia Pacific Screen Awards’ Script Development fund in 2014. Post-production was underway simultaneously in the US., India and Bangladesh, before being temporarily suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking to Variety, Siddiqui said: “The filming experience for this project was challenging but a fulfilling one.”
He also shared the news on Twitter and thanked Rahman for being part of the film. “It’s a pleasure to have the Maestro of Music @arrahman Co-Producing and doing the music of my film #NoLand’sMan directed by #MostofaSarwarFarooki,” he tweeted.
