Nawazuddin Siddiqui's niece has filed a sexual harassment complaint against his brother at the Jamia police station in Delhi, according to reports.
She said that she was abused when she was nine years old and as a child, she could not understand what he was doing to her. She told the Times of India that she was raised by a stepmother after her parents got divorced when she was two. “As a child I didn’t understand thinking it was my uncle, but when I grew up I realised it was a different kind of touch. There was violence too,” she told TOI.
She also alleged that Nawazzudin did not support her when she spoke to her about the abuse, and dismissed her claims. Nawazuddin’s reaction to her accusation was “chacha hai, aisa kabhi nahi kar sakte (he is your uncle, he can’t do this). ”
Speaking to TOI, she said that she had a court marriage and her father and Nawazuddin were allegedly harassing her in-laws.
Nawazuddin has been in the news recently after his wife filed a legal notice for divorce,a nd sought custody of their two kids. Speaking to media, she had said that she could no longer stay in the relationship for the sake of he self-esteem, and had also accused the actor's brother of creating issues.
