Mollywood actor Parvathy Thiruvothu, who received much praise for calling out the misogyny and toxic masculinity in the Telugu movie Arjun Reddy in front of its lead actor Vijay Deverakonda during a recent panel discussion hosted by noted film critic Anupama Chopra, has now apologised for a comment she made during the discussion.

After a netizen criticised the actor for using the term 'bipolar behaviour' during the same discussion, responded and corrected herself.

"Okay ya'all, Parvathy is denitely rocking it here but did she just say 'that's a bipolar behaviour?' Sorry, I couldn't continue watching it post that,” a user wrote on Twitter.

Parvathy was quick to respond with an apology. The actor wrote: “Came across this comment. Thank you! It was a wrong choice of words and I stand corrected. This is important as I myself have been trying to unlearn usages that allow using grave mental disabilities as a mere “adjective” to explain a situation.”

During the discussion, Parvathy, while comparing Arjun Reddy with the recently released Joker had said, "Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh had the visual grammar of glorification, Joker did not. At no point did I look at the character Joaquin (Phoenix) played and think 'Arre yaar, I totally agree with you. You must kill everyone'."

Parvathy had explained how the comments she read online appeared to indicate that Arjun Reddy 'incited violence,' describing it as 'a murky space' and 'bipolar behaviour.
