Disney's much-awaited magical film Frozen II releases Friday. It is a sequel to Frozen (2013), an animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios, starring Kristen Bell as Anna, Indina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, Josh Gad as Olaf and Santino Fontana as Hans.

Frozen 2 sees the return of directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, as well as songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

The original scripted history as the highest-grossing animated movie ever, raking in $1.2 billion worldwide in 2013, according to Variety. This Disney movie has won the hearts of many since its release. The story follows princesses Anna and Elsa of kingdom Arendelle. They have lost their parents in a shipwreck, and Anna is on a journey to save her sister Elsa 'from herself'. Elsa has the mystical power of ice which develops as she grows, because of which her father had advised her to isolate herself from everyone. But after the death of her parents, Elsa is expected to rule Arendelle when she turns 18. This freaks her out and she eventually runs away after her coronation party. Anna meeting Hans her ‘so-called’ soulmate and introducing him to Elsa acts as the catalyst. As Anna sets out in search of her sister, she meets Kristoff (her actual soulmate) but it takes a whole adventure to realise this fact and know the true colours of Hans.

In the end love triumphs above all because it really did save a frozen heart. What makes this movie endearing to children and adults alike is probably the fact that it restores one’s faith in family bonds. The story of the sisters teaches one to hope and trust that one day no matter whatever happens, everything will fall back in place. The movie is filled with inspiring songs sung by the voice actors themselves and these take us on a truly impressive, emotional roller coaster.

Six years later, as the sequel hits the screen, fans are eagerly awaiting what might be in store. The trailer of Frozen II dropped hints that this time the sisters set out beyond their home and comfort zones, on a larger mission. Elsa starts to hear a strange sound from the North calling out to her. Together with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Swen, they embark on a new journey beyond Arendelle to discover the origin of Elsa’s magical powers and save their kingdom. We can see Elsa trying to escape an island by icing her way over crashing waves, Anna taking a dramatic leap of faith across a dark flume and Kristoff and Swen leading a large herd of reindeer towards an unknown place.

During an episode of the Fine Tooning Podcast, blogger Jim Hill and Drew Taylor (who have broken several Disney-related stories over the years) laid out what they know about the Frozen II plot: “It is about Anna and Elsa searching for what actually happened to their parents… they’re going to go beyond Arendelle”.

In the Hindi version of the film, Priyanka Chopra Jonas voices Elsa, and we will hear Parineeti Chopra as Anna and actor Maniesh Paul as Kristoff. For the Tamil language version, Disney has roped inShruti Hasan to voice Elsa, TV host Dhivyadharshini to voice Anna, and Sathyan Sivakumar to voice Olaf.

Nithya Menen will voice Elsa in Frozen II’s Telugu version, host Priyadarshi Pulikonda will voice Olaf and Sitara Ghattamaneni will voice the younger version of Elsa.
