Vidya Balan shares how she beat anaemia

One out of two women suffer from Anemia In India, the actor said

Bollywood actor Vidya Balan, in a recent Instagram post, revealed that she was suffering from anaemia and offered a tip to beat it.

Anaemia is a condition in which people lack enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to body's tissues. The condition can make people feel tired and weak.

The actor, in her Instagram post, noted that one out of two women suffer from anaemia in India.

"One out of two women suffer from Anemia In India....and I myself have been that one out of two women for years...and I can’t emphasize enough how much stronger and healthier I feel with the optimal HB in my body...Feels like gold," she wrote.

Further, she revealed how she managed to beat the condition. "My favourite #IronRichfood is dates...what yours !? This Dhanteras…let’s not just invest in gold but also invest in our iron," she wrote.

Further, the Mission Mangal asked people to eat healthy, iron rich food. "Eat healthy Iron Rich food. Get tested. Stay alert and healthy!"

Dates is highly nutritious dried fruit which contains Potassium, Vitamin B6, Manganese, Iron, Copper, and Magnesium. It is also high in fibre and contains disease-fighting antioxidants. Studies have also found that dates boost brain health.

On the work front, Vidya Balan will be next seen in Shakuntala Devi, a biographical film written and directed by Anu Menon, in which the actor will essay the role of Shakuntala Devi, a mathematical genius who was known as the "human computer".
