Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital. Ever since news of Bachchan being hospitalised was released, contradictory reports have been doing the rounds. While some reports claimed Bachchan was at the Nanavati for the past three days, and was being treated for liver ailments, PTI reported it was only part of routine check-up.

Bachchan on Thursday greeted his fans on the occasion of 'Karwa Chauth' festival, and shared photographs of himself with wife Jaya Bachchan. He celebrated his 77th birthday on October 11 with his family and close friends.

The actor, who has been associated with various health campaigns, including TB and polio, said he cites his personal example all the time to convey the message that it is important to get the health check-ups done on time. He said he does not mind publicly saying that he is “a tuberculosis survivor, Hepatitis B survivor.”
