The Pakistani woman who yelled at Priyanka Chopra at the BeautyCon Event in Los Angeles has spoken up on Twitter, accusing the actress of ‘gaslighting’ her

Sharing the video of the exchange between the two, Ayesha Malik, said that Priyanka Chopra gaslit her, turning the narrative to make her out as the bad guy.

She added that “It took me back to when I couldn’t reach my family because of the blackouts and how scared/helpless I was. She gaslit me and turned the narrative around on me being the “bad guy” — as a UN ambassador this was so irresponsible.”

Gaslighting is a psychological tactic and form of abuse that involves making a person question their beliefs or reality.

You can watch the exchanges between the two below:

In the clips, Priyanka can be heard responding to Ayesha, saying, “Whenever you’re done venting. Got it, done? Ok cool. So, I have many, many friends from Pakistan. And I am, from India, and war is not something that I’m really fond of but I am patriotic. So i’m sorry if I hurt sentiments of people who do love me and have loved me. But I think that all of us have a sort of middle ground that we all have to walk just like you probably do as well..the way you came at me right now."

At this point, Ayesha responds back saying that she loved India as much as she loved Pakistan. By this point, the mic had been taken away from her. Priyanka then responds saying, "Don’t yell, were all here for love,” eliciting cheers from the crowd, prompting Ayesha to yell at Priyanka, calling her a hypocrite.

Another Twitter user commented saying “The press will be more likely to cover Kashmir via this Priyanka Chopra story than they have been since India more unabashedly started violating the human rights of Kashmiris,” to which Ayesha replied “And that’s exactly why I did what I did.”

Priyanka Chopra was made a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in December of 2016.

On February 26, the day after the Indian Air Force conducted a series of strikes across the Line of Control (LoC), Priyanka Chopra tweeted in support of the move, saying “Jai Hind” and hashtagging #IndianArmedForces.

Bollywood actors have largely supported the decision to abrogate Article 370 and bifurcate Kashmir. Kangana Ranaut supported the move while Dia Mirza called for peace in Kashmir. Actor Vijay Sethupathi has opposed the abrogation of Article 370.
