Malayalam television and film actress Sharanya Sasi has been battling brain tumour for the past six years, and recently underwent the seventh surgery at a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
Her struggle has been making news ever since senior actress Seema G. Nair posted a video, describing her situation and requesting for financial help. In the video, Seema said that the actress who has put up an indomitable spirit since she was diagnosed, is heading for a critical seventh surgery. Every year, the disease strikes again, Seema said in the video. She added that Sharanya is the sole breadwinner of the family, and any sort of financial assistance will be appreciated.
A similar video was also shared by social worker Sooraj Paalakaran. Actors have started sharing the videos requesting their fan base to help their young colleague.
Sharanya, who has acted in Malayalam films like Chotta Mumbai and Thalappavu, became a well known face after she forayed into television serials.
Seema's plea has also been taken up on the crowdfunding platform milaap, where a fundraising campaign is live.
