Of late, Jyothika has been choosing movies were female-centric or has strong women characters. He last two outings, Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and Kaatrin Mozhi had her playing strong female characters.

If the trailer is anything to go by, her latest movie, Raatchasi, is going to be no different.

Directed and written by newcomer Gowtham Raj, Raatchasi appears to be the story of a headmistress who comes to a school that people have given up on. While she attempts to rebuild the image of the school and help the students to fare better both in studies and sports, she faces tough opposition from uncooperative teachers and others who seem to stand to gain if the school continues to be the way it is.

The trailer suggests that the film will have some fine performance by Jyothika who is portrayed as a no-nonsense person. The trailer opens with the voice-over by the actor where she says, “Just speaking about the injustice, but not putting an end it it and keeping along with it become part of the injustice,” indicating the things to come by.

Raatchasi will be produced by S.R. Prabhu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures. The movie has Poornima Baghyaraj, Hareesh Paredi and Sathyan in prominent roles.
