The new wave of Indian cinema has witnessed regional content upping its game beyond the defined set of viewership irrespective of the language barrier. After Baahubali, KGF chapter 1 became the highest grossing outing of the Kannada film industry, that not only stood tall at the box office but also revolutionised the perception of the masses towards regional movies.
As KGF Chapter 2 is currently underway, sources suggest that Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon will reprise the role of former prime minister Indira Gandhi in the film. Earlier too, there were speculations about Sanjay Dutt being approached by the makers of the film for a meatier role. However, the makers of the film are yet to announce Sanjay and Raveena’s involvement in the film.
As the film soared high for its stupendous action stunt scenes and captivating storyline, actor Yash who played Rocky bhai in the film is elated about Chapter 2. In an earlier interview, he had said that the film is going to be bigger and better and that he is waiting to unleash the monster.
He also added that the team invested their efforts to bring in their excellence in recreating costumes and the setup that reflected the style of the 80’s.
Besides Yash, KGF features Srinidhi Shetty, Achyuth Kumar, Malavika Avinash in key roles. As Chapter 1 had released across the nation, including in languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi, the sequel will also release in these languages across India.
KGF Chapter 2 is reportedly slated for 2020 release.
