Alia Bhatt is arguably one of the most successful actors among the current band of Bollywood A-listers. The success, however, comes at a price if one is to go by one of her recent interviews where she admitted that she has been suffering from bouts of anxiety.

The Gully Boy actor, who is currently busy with the multi-starrer Brahmastra, in an interview to Filmfare said she hasn't been suffering from depression, but gets bouts of anxiety which comes and goes. “Sometimes I feel like crying for no reason,” the actor was quoted as saying.

The actor said this has been happening for the past couple of months. Alia Bhatt said she is aware of this because she has seen how her sister fought depression and has also read I've never been (Un)happier which is a memoir of her sister Shaheen Bhatt. In her book, Shaheen who was diagnosed with depression at the age of 18, recounts how she lived with the illness for years.

Alia Bhatt said she constantly tried find reasons for how she was feeling and even spoke to a couple of her friends about it. “Everyone told me that you’ve got to realise that it will go away. What’s important is to accept it and not say that you’re fine,” she was quoted as saying in the interview.

Alia Bhatt will be next seen in Abhishek Varman directorial Kalank which also stars Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt.
