'Vivek Oberoi behaved like Narendra Modi on sets of Modi biopic'

Actors go to great lengths to prepare and be in their character. Actors like Christian Bale and Robert De Niro and Aamir Khan have amazed movie goers with incredible physical transformations to get into the character.

Reports now reveal that Vivek Oberoi has been perfecting the art of getting into the skin of the character. This is for his upcoming movie PM Narendra Modi in which he plays the character of Narendra Modi. According to a report in The Indian Express, Vivek Oberoi was behaving like his character, Modi, on the sets of the movie even when the camera was away. Such was his transformation into the character that members of the crew were surprised, according to sources.

Sandip Ssingh, the producer of the movie, said he was impressed by the versatility showed by Vivek Oberoi in his initial films Company and Saathiya. He said he was looking for a versatile actor to play the role of Narendra Modi and also wanted the actor to dedicate one year solely for the movie. Ssingh reportedly said Vivek Oberoi was totally dedicated to the movie and had taken 15 look tests that took seven to eight hours of make up.

According to sources, Vivek Oberoi had to wake up 2.30 am and apply make-up for seven to eight hours to be ready for shoot at 8 am.

Meanwhile, trade analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal different looks of Vivek Oberoi in the movie. “Vivek Anand Oberoi’s different looks in the biopic #PMNarendraModi… Directed by Omung Kumar… Produced by Sandip Ssingh, Suresh Oberoi and Anand Pandit,” he tweeted.

The movie, directed by Omung Kumar, who has movies such as Mary Kom and Sarbjit to his credit, is set to hit theatres on April 12. "PM Narendra Modi the film will traverse the journey of Narendra Damodardas Modi from his humble beginnings to his years as Gujarat Chief Minister onto his landmark win at the 2014 election and finally being nominated as the Prime Minister of India," Kumar had earlier said.

The movie also stars Darshan Kumaar, Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Prashant Narayanan, Zarina Wahab and Barkha Bisht Sengupta.
