'A browsing experience optimised for your way of life'. This is what you see first as you open salamweb.com, a Shariah certified web browser designed specifically for Muslims.

Launched by a Malaysian-based startup, the web browser is designed with features that include texting, news and other features. The web browser is basically aimed at users in Malaysia and Indonesia.

According to the website, salamweb aims to empower Muslims worldwide to discover, connect and contribute in an online environment customised for their way of life.

One of the important features of the website is SalamProtect, "an advanced content filter that flags material that’s better to avoid. It’s controlled and customised by you and designed to help the whole Muslim community find enjoyable content. Stay focused on what matters most and turn off what doesn’t," according to the website. The website also say that the news made available through the browswer is "news aggregated in a Shariah-compliant way".

“We are the world’s first Shariah certified web browser and digital ecosystem endorsed by Amanie Shariah Supervisory Board,” notes the web browser.

The app is available for download on Goole Play and Apple App Store.
