An accused in the February 2017 actress assault case has come forward with startling revelations, claiming the case was scripted by film personalities Manju Warrier and Remya Nambeesan, along with two directors, to trap actor Dileep. Martin Antony, the second accused in the actress assault case, said film directors Lal and Shrikumar Menon were also involved. Martin made the sensational disclosure to mediapersons while he was brought to the principal district and sessions court in Ernakulam on Wednesday.

"I will reveal the truth. Innocent people like me were cheated. Manju received a flat in Mumbai and a chance in Odiyan as rewards for her role. I have more things to disclose. I have full faith in the judiciary and hope to get justice. I have apprised the court on all matters," Martin said. Martin, 24, a resident of Koratti, was arrested on February 17, 2017, following the assault on the leading South Indian actress in a moving vehicle near Kochi. Her images were shot by a gang which had waylaid her car that was driven by Martin. They claimed that Martin is, in fact, a victim like the actress. The court had recently asked the prosecution to submit evidence that clearly points to Martin's role in the crime. The court was considering a bail plea from Martin when it made the demand.
The court has asked the prosecution to inform it about the type of documents that could be handed over to the accused. The latter also has to communicate the grounds for rejecting the same to the accused. Further hearing in the case has been scheduled for April 11.
A day earlier, the high court had asked Dileep, an accused in the case and former husband of Manju Warrier, why he was asking for a copy of the visuals of the incident. The actor had replied that he wanted to confirm its authenticity.
The actor had approached the high court by arguing that the probe would be one-sided if he couldn't analyse the visuals of the crime contained in a memory card.
