Pakistan, on Thursday, successfully test-fired the indigenously developed Fatah-IV ground-launched cruise missile that is capable of engaging long-range targets with high precision.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Rocket Force Command carried out the launch of the ground-launched cruise missile equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational systems.

The testing comes barely a few weeks after the Army Rocket Force Command conducted a training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system.

The Fatah-IV weapon system is capable of engaging long-range targets with high precision, the ISPR said.

The missile was test-fired to enhance the operational efficiency of the troops and validate technical parameters of various sub-systems incorporated for improved accuracy and enhanced survivability.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and other services chiefs commended the successful training fire of the missile.

In April, the Pakistan Navy had also carried out a successful live firing of the indigenous anti-ship weapon system Taimoor air-launched cruise missile.

In September 2025, the army conducted the training launch of the cruise missile Fatah-IV, with a range of 750 kilometres. Pakistan also had test-launched a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 120km under the Fatah series in May last year.
