EXCON 2025, the latest edition of one of India’s biggest construction equipment shows, kicks off today in Bengaluru, as it looks to bring together more than 1,250 exhibitors under one roof.
Hosted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the 13th edition of the expo will run from December 9 to 13 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), spread across 3.5 million sqft of exhibition area, according to the organisers.
What makes EXCON special?
EXCON is ranked as the world’s third-largest construction equipment exhibition and the second-largest in Asia, CII says. This year’s edition features seven country pavilions from France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Turkey, China and the UK, highlighting the event’s growing global profile.
Organised every two years, EXCON has, over time, evolved from a trade show into what CII calls a “construction festival” where companies showcase new vehicles, machinery, and digital technologies.
CII President Designate and EXCON Chairman R. Mukundan said India’s infrastructure push is central to the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, with Rs 11.21 lakh crore earmarked for capital expenditure in FY 2025–26.
He pointed to mega programmes such as Bharatmala, high-speed rail and Smart Cities under PM Gati Shakti as examples of projects driving demand for advanced construction equipment.
According to Mukundan, EXCON acts as the largest platform in India for technology adoption, mechanisation and sustainability in the sector, with growing focus on automation, Internet of Things (IoT), AI-led machinery and green technologies.
Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII, said this edition is expected to set new records, with over 300 product launches planned and live demonstrations across the venue.

The organisers, in their statement, stressed that the show layout included sustainability-focused pavilions and innovation zones that aimed to showcase how modern machines can speed up project execution while reducing environmental impact.
Karnataka’s emergence as a manufacturing hub for construction equipment and components is also a key theme, with the state leveraging its strong industrial base around Bengaluru.
Deepak Shetty, Co-Chairman of EXCON 2025, noted that the Indian construction equipment industry wants to triple its market size to 25 billion US dollars and position India as a global manufacturing and export hub. He said the sector already exports to over 135 countries and is aligned with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
