From generative AI tools to incorporate in WhatsApp to no-code conversational AI bots, Tata Communications’ new artificial intelligence platform covers it all. Tata Group’s digital solutions arm, in a regulatory filing, announced its “artificial intelligence-powered flagship portfolio” named Kaleyra AI.
The company said that Kaleyra AI will have three things on offer: a generative AI template generator for WhatsApp, a conversational AI data reporting tool, and a conversational no-code AI builder.
According to Mauro Carobene, head of Customer Interaction Suite at Tata Communications, Kaleyra AI is expected to be a “force multiplier”.
“For C-suite decision-makers, our generative AI-powered reporting and insights will enhance visibility into enterprise performance, all via a simple natural language interface,” added Carobene.
The “GenAI Template Generator for WhatsApp” seems to be a capability aimed at the Indian market, for it lets the customers craft personalised templates and its variants for Meta’s highly successful messaging app, WhatsApp. The company is also looking to expand it to other channels, including traditional SMS and more advanced communications protocols such as rich communication services (RCS), which Apple uses in their iMessages.

In conversational AI, data reporting looks at converting reports to easily digestible visualisations, while the no-code builder aids customers in creating AI chatbots that offer a more natural conversation, according to the company.
Tata Communications said that Kaleyra AI would be released in beta to select customers of the firm in early 2025. The general availability release is expected by the first half of 2025 on Tata Communications’ proprietary AI Cloud, the company announced.
Tata Communications stock jumped at least 4 per cent in Thursday morning trade after the announcement.
