Vedanta Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Sonal Shrivastava has stepped down after a major structural overhaul was announced in September, the company said on Tuesday.

Shrivastava is leaving Vedanta four months after joining the company in June. He was the third CFO of the billionaire Anil Agarwal-led firm since 2021 after G.R. Arun Kumar and Ajay Goel.

Interestingly, Goel, who has quit Byju's as Chief Financial Officer, will return to Vedanta and replace Shrivastava. Goel had resigned from Vedanta in April to take over as Byju's CFO.

Byju's said Goel will be replaced by company's President (Finance) Nitin Golani, who has been given the extra responsibility of India CFO.

The company said Goel resigned from the edtech major after completing the audit process for the financial year 2022.

"I thank the founders and colleagues at Byju's for helping me assemble the FY'22 audit in three months. I appreciate the support received during a short but impactful stint at Byju's," Goel said.

Vedanta is gearing up to divide the metals-to-oil conglomerate into six separate businesses, a decision taken last month to shore up the group's financial performance, reported Reuters.
