The Supreme Court on Monday declined to interfere with Competition Commission of India (CCI) investigation against e-commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart for alleged competition law violations. "We expect big organisations like Amazon, Flipkart to voluntarily go for enquiry," the apex court said, extending the time by four weeks for the companies to join the investigation.

The bench of CJI Ramana and Justice Surya Kant was hearing an appeal by e-commerce giants Flipkart and Amazon against a July 23 order of the Karnataka High Court that refused to set aside a probe ordered by the CCI into the two firms.
The CCI had ordered the investigation against the two companies last year, for allegedly promoting select sellers on their e-commerce platforms, and using business practices that stifle competition.
Both the companies have denied wrongdoing and mounted multiple legal challenges against the investigation.
