The nonprofit organizations are formed to work for a cause and to uplift the society. They fight for a lot of social causes such as social exclusion, domestic violence, human rights and women empowerment. NPOs aim to make the society a better place to live for people of all castes and creeds.

For as pure their cause might be, still they need funds to bring their pous ideas to reality. Some NPOs manage to get the funding from the government on a regular basis but others have to survive on donations. Managing the funds becomes the most challenging task for them. That’s one of the reasons that India has more than 31 Lakh registered NPO, contrary to the number, the development is not at par to the expectations and plannings.

To bring them out of their financial blues, the IT companies have introduced fundraising softwares. However simple it might sound, but adding a fundraising software does not ensure the donations for nonprofits. Even in terms of the performance, organizations need to choose wisely out of the multiple and varied softwares available today.

As the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world, the economic status of India has been impacted big time. India is being affected more than the other countries due to its status as a developing country. The donations and the government funding has also been affected, creating a challenge for the NPOs to function smoothly.

In this situation, the non profits in India can go with Donorbox and overcome the barriers. The Tech Company from San Francisco comes with a friendly user interface, many features to manage the funding without any hassle and most of all it brings in the funding options from all over the world.

It has a multi – currency support and very quick and painless online payment methods. The non-profit organizations in India can now get donations from other countries of the world too.

Not only this, It is also customer centric, providing customer support on weekdays and weekends,  has a long- term goal to serve the nonprofit community and has the focus on optimization and efficiency.

Introducing its services to India in early 2020, Donorbox is already supporting two of the major projects of nonprofit organizations in India, helping them to track their donors, accepting online donations, and more.

SHANTI BHAVAN CHILDREN’S PROJECT

Shanti Bhavan is a non-profit project that aims to empower children from poverty by providing them a world- class education institution. It is based out of Bangalore and they have a policy to enroll 12 boys and 12 girls annually. This is a US 501(c)(3) and India 80-G organization that runs a pre-k to 12 school.

Even after school, Shanti Bhavan provides the fee for college education. Students stay at school throughout the year, even during the summer and winter breaks. Students that this project supports are all from the houses that are socially backward due to the communal challenges in India.

Alongwith education, they are provided with food, shelter, clothes, healthcare and even emotional support. The older students participate in the workshops for writing, debate and public speaking. The holistic approach of the educational system of Shanti Bhavan gives the Radical transformation to their students.

The residential education of shanti Bhavan is affiliated by CISCE, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations that has India's strongest academic curriculum and  grade 10 and 12 are educated under ISC exams.

The non-profit organization was looking out to arrange a long-term funding to secure their cause. Donorbox integrated with the Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project and  helped successfully to raise $ 1.44M of donations.

In the words of the founder and CEO of the Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project, Dr. Abraham George

“Donorbox has served as an accessible, user-friendly, and helpful tool to facilitate donations to Shanti Bhavan, especially as it pertains to campaigning for our second school.

The ability to easily create multiple projects allows us to break a large project, like building a second school, into smaller, more manageable pieces. It makes for a more satisfying donor experience, and shows us exactly where our attention is most needed.

Overall, using Donorbox has allowed for greater visibility and opportunities to connect with new supporters, ultimately taking us one step closer towards reaching our annual fundraising goals.”

MASKSFORINDIA.ORG

Masksforindia is a student initiative from NCR area to help people in this fight of humanity against COVID-19. They provide masks, soaps, sanitary pads and milk for newborn babies to the people who live in dense slum areas of India who either do not have access to these vital supplies or can’t afford them at market price.

Social distancing served the purpose of saving people from the virus for months but when the society needed a comeback to their routine, then masks were the new normal for people around the globe.

In words of Professor DAVID HEYMANN, the ADVISER from WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO)

“I THINK THAT WEARING A MASK IS EQUALLY EFFECTIVE OR MORE EFFECTIVE THAN DISTANCING.”

The not-for-profit student organization has tied up with the local tailors and small-scale manufacturers to get the 100% cotton masks made and they disinfect the masks before distribution.

The fundraising software, Donorbox has helped MasksforIndia to achieve their fundraising goals and keeping a track of all the donors and their funds.
