The Madras High Court ordered a stay on the declaration of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEETUG) 2025 results, following a petition filed by students.
As per the students, they were unable to complete the exam due to a power outage in one of the exam centre in Chennai's Avadi.
The petition was filed by as many as 13 students who stated that the power outage in their exam centre forced them to attempt the exam in poor lighting as no alternative arrangements were made to restore the power. The candidates, alleging they could not write the exam to their satisfaction, lodged a complaint with the National Testing Agency (NTA) through its website but in vain. The case will be heard again on June 2, reported ETV Bharat.
Similarly, the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court also put an interim stay on the declaration of the NEET UG 2025 results while hearing a student's plea that her performance was affected due to a power outage at her exam centre. A notice was issued to the National Testing Agency (NTA), Central Government and Madhya Pradesh West Zone Electricity Distribution Company, among the respondents, and sought their reply within four weeks regarding the issue.
NTA conducted the NEET UG 2025 exam on May 4 from 2 pm to 5 pm at various exam centres across the country.
